The College of William & Mary seeks qualified applicants for the position of Grounds Lead Worker to provide scheduled landscape maintenance services and work generated through the work order system to the College for the Old Campus, New Campus, Law School, and the Dillard Complex. The hours for this position are 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday.

Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge of: - General landscape maintenance practices and procedures. - Appropriate chemical usage related to the landscape field. - Road repair techniques. - Performing routine maintenance on landscape vehicles, equipment, and tools. Skill in: - Communicating with the College community, contractors, and visitors. - Using and maintaining power and hand tools. - Proper pruning practices employed in maintaining shrubbery. - Maintaining the proper records associated with landscape maintenance. Ability to: - Maintain a professional and positive attitude with fellow employees. - Plan and execute routine and long term task assignments. - Respond to emergency situations and task assignments on short notice. - Lift 75 lbs. without assistance. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Affairs in categories 3A and 3B or ability to obtain within 1 year of employment. High School graduate or equivalent with substantial experience in a related field. Demonstrated ability to supervise a landscape crew in the completion of daily tasks. Valid driver's license. Valid commercial driver's license with air brake rider preferred. Valid pesticide license from Virginia.
