About Grovo We ’re looking for innovators and problem solvers who want to have an enormous impact on the world and are passionate about taking on the largest of challenges. We were the first to provide Internet education to the world. We created Grovo to help people better use web and mobile apps with short-form video courses. Our mission is to be your trusted source of real-time, high quality updates to the web and mobile products you and your friends use.

We launched the website in late 2010. Since then, the community has grown to almost 50,000 members hailing from 145 countries in six continents and includes Fortune 500 paying customers, K-12 school districts, and leading universities like Harvard, Stanford, and CalTech. To date, our NYC-based team has produced 2,500 one-minute video lessons, each of which includes a multiple choice quiz, time-synced transcript, download-able PDF, and glossary sterms. Our courses typically contain 10-50 video lessons; we currently cover 100 unique web/mobile products and strategies to use them best.

About half of our coursework can be watched for free. For more advanced courses, we charge $9/month or $99/year for unlimited access to current and new coursework we create every week. We deliver coursework via our social learning platform, which is also proudly produced in our NYC-based office. Grovo has been featured in The New York Times, Forbes, and TechCrunch, and we have raised venture financing from some of Silicon Valley ’s most prestigious investors.

Position Description Join Grovo as the cornerstone and first hire of our Performance Marketing and Acquisition team. You will be responsible for: 1) Recruiting, building and managing a team of performance marketers (hiring a Lifecycle Marketing Analyst to start) 2) Leading Performance Marketing strategy to ignite profitable growth across all channels: viral product development, SEO, social media, mobile, online video, and business development 3) Leading the online marketing team in identifying new opportunities to grow existing channels, pursuing new channels (affiliates, SEM, display, and TV), and bringing best practices to the company 4) Being an integral member of our executive team, and defining/managing a budget It ’s a critical role and reports to our Cofounder and CEO, Jeff Fernandez. Essential Functions Manage all online acquisition marketing programs including viral product development, social media, SEO, mobile, video, refer-a-friend programs, affiliate programs, business development and landing page/registration page optimization Lead customer acquisition and retention with a continuous and relentless focus on improving ROI and gaining greater leverage and efficiency Optimize organic growth channels and identify when to pursue paid growth channels Drive analysis and optimization across all marketing programs to track ROI and areas for new investments, including new and emerging channels Identify opportunities to develop new channels and/or expand existing channels for customer acquisition Coordinate with the metrics team to identify critical user segments Coordinate with the product marketing team to identify target messages for each segment Coordinate with the engineering team to optimize a custom-built CMS that has dynamic functionality for the user registration, purchase, and re-subscription flows that you can control Coordinate with the metrics and engineering teams to customize a dashboard of critical metrics Coordinate and gain leverage from metrics team to support campaign analysis and optimization especially customer list analytics/segmentation Create in-depth reports to highlight high-end and low-end performance and adjust programs accordingly Collaborate with product and content teams to uncover new opportunities Supervise, mentor, and participate in career development of the Performance Marketing team Manage planning and budgeting, coordinate contracts and insertion orders, accruals, etc. Coordinate with product marketing and content groups for support on creative messaging, campaigns, social media Coordinate with public relations team for support on segment driven, critical campaigns Job Qualifications 7+ years experience in acquisition and performance marketing to consumers, including online and offline channels: TV, SEM, SEO, display advertising, social " mobile media, video, refer-a-friend programs, affiliate programs, business development and landing page/registration page optimization Out of the box thinking: he/she will be visionary, creating strategies and turning them into concrete tactical plans Ability to convey a clear course and sense of direction and prioritize amongst many competing demands to ensure that short-term goals supporting long-term initiatives are achieved with an appropriate sense of urgency Ability to motivate, lead and utilize effective management techniques to influence and motivate staff to perform at the highest level of excellence Strong analytical and reporting background around campaign optimization Experience managing and allocating budgets Strong capabilities around understanding cohorts, LTVs, etc.
