This position is a combination of responsibilities. We want someone capable of acting as a Guidance, Navigation and Control Engineer within the core group while also assisting in the design, development, and management of Guidance, Navigation, and Control Analysis and Test Tools and Software. This includes:
Developing web interfaces for our GNC tools
Performing server configuration, deployment, and management
Development of 6DOF launch vehicle and spacecraft dynamics simulators using C++
Software verification via testing with flight-software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop
Design and analysis of Guidance, Navigation and Control algorithms
Mission design and mission sequencing including fault management and contingency operations
Required Skills and Experience:
Masters or PhD in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineer, Electrical Engineering, Physics or similar area of focus is required; must have strong first principles knowledge of classical dynamics, orbital mechanics, linear control theory, and general aerospace knowledge
Must be highly proficient in Python, C++, and/or Matlab
Must have experience with Linux-based computing environments and be capable of configuring and deploying servers
Demonstrated project experience in Launch Vehicles or Spacecraft Systems
Capable of solving complex problems with little to no supervision on schedule as an individual or as a member of an integrated team
Good communication skills and ability to work effectively with others
Passion for advancing the commercial space industry and human spaceflight
Ability to work in a fast paced, autonomously driven, and demanding start-up atmosphere
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Experience with high-performance computing clusters (HPC)
Experience with Latex, jQuery, HTML, and CSS
Experience with management of large data-sets and the application of algorithms
