This position is located at the office of Navy Medicine East (NME), in the Healthcare Operations Directorate, Portsmouth, VA.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

A valid passport is required.

Travel is required to other activities CONUS or OCONUS.

Suitable for Federal employment as determined by background investigation.

Overtime work may be required.

You must obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance

DUTIES:
Major duties of this position will include:
Act as a Program Manager with responsibility to the Director for Healthcare Operations (M3).

Lead, communicate, train, monitor, report on and represent the team in all aspects of the team's accomplishments of objectives, work products and/or tasks.

Work on a variety of complex management issues related to health care delivery, resource and cost analysis, independent financial reviewer and policy analysis.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities, to successfully perform the duties of the position.

Specialized Experience Statement - I have at least o ne full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent in the level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the GS- 12 in the Federal Service that has equipped me with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience is defined as:

Experience with healthcare terminology, functions and business practices of medical personnel,medical administrative structures and hospital financial management.

Experience in solving problems where no precedents or proven methodology exist.

Experience with the Military Health System as well as the civilian Health care industry.

REQUIREMENTS:
Generally, current Federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. All qualifications and time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement and clearly documented in your resume.

Selectee is required to participate in the Department of Defense direct deposit of pay program.

A Secret security clearance is a requirement of this position. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a position offer or removal. If you possess a security clearance, please indicate the level and termination date in your resume.

Travel is required to other activities in the NME AOR, CONUS or OCONUS, for the purpose of site visits, conferences, training or meetings.
