JOB SUMMARY: Cross trained in all clerical job functions in the HIM department. Peforms prepping, scanning and indexing on all record types. Analyzes physician documentation in ECM (Electronic Chart Management) on all record types in the analysis queue according to HIM policies and procedures. Serves as a back up to other areas as needed.
Education and Formal Training: Student or graduate of HIT program required. RHIT preferred.
Work Experience: Must be able to operate computer terminal. 2 to 3 years experience in HIM department preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; knowledge of Microsoft software include Word and Excel; ability to maintain quality and quantity standards at all times; ability to respond to changes in work volume on a daily basis.
