provides inpatient and day treatment for children, adolescents, adults, and senior adults. Our professional staff individualizes care to uniquely fit the intensity and severity of each client's case and their family's needs. Because crisis occurs at all times of the day and night, our services are provided 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our mission is to provide a full spectrum of mental health services in a safe, caring, therapeutic environment that is continually monitored for quality and efficiency.

Hickory Trail currently has an opening for a qualified Coder.

Code all Inpatient and Outpatient charts within required time frame.

Print coding abstract for each patient and file in chart.
Code all Inpatient and Outpatient accounts in MS4 or Quantum.
Resolve all coding issues within required time frame from Business Office.
Work Billed Error Report daily.
Attend all coding education conf. calls.

Provide abstract to physicians.
Assist with re-analyze all discharge patient medical records.
Assist with release of information calls and/or equivalent questions.

Assist in answering department phones.
Assist in covering the department in the absence of the Director and/or co-workers.
Address patients, visitors and co-workers in a pleasant and respectful manner.
Adhere to facility, department, corporate, personnel and standard Policies and Procedures.
Attend all mandatory facility in-services and staff development activities as scheduled.
Adhere to facility standards concerning conduct, dress, attendance and punctuality.
Support facility-wide quality/performance improvement goals and objectives.
Maintain confidentiality of facility employees and patient information


A minimum of two years in a health care with Inpatient and Outpatient Records using ICD-9 or RHIT or CCS.

Additional Requirements: Ability to work closely with facility and medical staff, good communication skills, and excellent organizational skills, and a minimum typing speed of 40 wpm is required. Maybe required to work occasional overtime and flexible hours. Able to bend, lift, push, pull 40 pounds or more.
