Under the direction of the TGIF Supervisor, this person will work on a team which sets up, maintains and dismantles the concert site on nine Fridays in June, July and August. Performs heavy labor and interacts with the public. This part-time position requires availability on all stated Fridays starting June 28 through August 23, 2013; the period of employment is from June 10 through August 30, 2013. Must be flexible, some additional work dates may be negotiated.
Days/Hours: Crew member shifts are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4 to 11 p.m.
TGIF Jazz in the Parks is a weekly free community concert which attracts more than 3,000 people. A variety of vendors provide refreshments and activities. Services to attendees include free shuttle buses, managed parking areas, and on-site recycle and trash management.
Individual must be at least 16 years of age as of May 31, 2013; have reliable transportation; be available to work both shifts on required dates; have good communication and teamwork skills; and if in high school must obtain work permit.
Required Apparel—person hired must wear “Crew t-shirt” standard apparel as prescribed by the Cultural Arts Office, along with closed-toe shoes.
Experience & Education:
Individual must be able to lift 50 pounds.
