HR Advisor opportunity in Georgetown, KYJob Purpose:
Provide Generalist support to employees in the United States to ensure consistent and value-added application of HR policies, programs, and training, in alignment with the overall Orica HR strategy and Orica business strategy. Demonstrates proficiency in recruiting, supporting HRIS operations, employee relations, and managing workers compensation. Facilitates adherence to government contractor compliance requirements. Acts as key contact and back-up for HR Manager, USA in all functional areas. Provides all necessary HR support, communication & resources for smooth integration of personnel acquired through business acquisitions. Employee Relations
Provide guidance to manager on employee relations, performance concerns, documentation and policies/procedures.
Direct managers in annual performance review process including completion of documentation, merit raise requests, and goal setting for the following year.
Guide HR Coordinator in relocation, immigration, invoice processing, EEOC reporting, Affirmative Action Planning and employee data entry and updates. Recruiting
Track personnel requisitions, open positions, recruiting efforts, interview processes and on-boarding of new hires.
Utilize on-line recruiting tool for capturing applicant data, Affirmative Action activities, and targeting reduction of time to fill positions.
Monitor posting of internal career progression positions and process for consideration of internal candidates and feedback for action planning to improve as needed.
Coordinate with selected schools, universities, and organizations to attend career fairs and other events marketing the career opportunities available within Orica. Training
Partner with Training and Development Manager to identify training needs, communicate potential solutions to managers, plan implementation of training and lead training events.
Utilize E-Learning tool for regulatory compliance and management competency development. Communication
Consistent communication with District Directors and other key leaders regarding business strategy, approach, and human resources contributions.
Introduction of new tools for managers to utilize in human resources activities.
Clarification of compliance with Employee Handbook and other company policies.
Work with Marketing Coordinator on updates to the HR portion of the Intranet. Safety, Health & Environment
Support company-wide Deliver the Promise Goal of Safety, Health & Environment.
Comply with Safety Charter and immediate reporting of any accidents, injuries or incidents.
Follow up on investigations into workplace incidents & accidents, coordinating with SH&E Manager on Worker’s Comp information.
Partner with Safety Dept in training, auditing, & providing support to each US site.
Partner with Risk Dept to ensure compliance with federal/state regulations
Ensure compliance with physical screening policies for all new hires & current EEs.

Required Skills:
BS/BA degree with preferred emphasis in Human Resources or related field.
Minimum 3 to 5 years in Human Resources role.
PHR Certification is preferred.
Sound knowledge of US Human Resources laws.
Strong communication skills with ability to relate and connect with diverse groups of people.
