HR Application Product Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Product Manager will play a key role in defining the product vision for an employee appraisal application used by nearly one thousand clients and affecting over 100,000 working professionals. This vision will include consideration of the user-interface, content, and integration of the product with other complementary products and services related to human resource management such as performance management, succession planning, learning management, and payroll processing (to be developed, acquired, or integrated through partnerships).

The Product Manager will ensure the execution of the vision of the product by becoming a subject matter expert and working closely with project managers, developers, database analysts, and the quality assurance team. The Product Manager will collaborate with other key positions that will develop and maintain content that support the product. There will also be opportunities for the Product Manager to provide input related to the marketing, sales, and investment strategies related to the product.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • 1. Manage all processes for the product ranging from strategic planning to tactical activities
  • 2. Gather and prioritize market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by on-going visits to customers and non-customers.
  • 3. Work with third parties to assess partnerships and licensing opportunities
  • 4. Ensure that each individual that has a stake in the successful execution of the product vision works in a synergistic and positive way
  • 5. Be an expert with respect to the competition
  • 6. Maintain knowledge of Company policies, procedures and all products sold by this position.
  • 7. Responsible for related duties as required or assigned.

    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

    Bachelor's degree in business, human resource management or related field, or equivalent experience and education. MBA with an emphasis in Human Resources is a plus. Three years of related experience using performance management/appraisal applications.

    CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

    Professional certification in human resource management is preferred (PHR, SPHR).

    OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    Thorough knowledge of: human resource policies and practices; talent management including performance management, compensation planning, and related areas; current compensation policies, programs, and market research; state and federal regulations related to compensation decisions, FLSA determinations, and required records.Knowledge of marketing and social media (FB, Twitter, and LinkedIn) strategies.Working knowledge of current blog tools and trends.Ability to organize, coordinate, and direct projects. Strong oral and written communication abilities. Solid analytical technical skills. Ability to solve problems, use related software applications, gather data and prepare reports. Ability to plan, develop, and write policies and procedures. Good presentation skills and detail oriented.
