Position Summary:
Assist with associate relations issues/investigations, benefits and training issues; conduct orientation and required training as needed

Research, answer, and follow-up on daily inquiries from associates and managers on policies, payroll benefits, which includes daily contact and relationship building with home office departments such as benefits, payroll and HR Services

Implement procedures and projects within the human resources department with approval of the HR Manager based on business needs

Analyze HR reports (LOA, termination, temporary, Worker’s Compensation, etc.) to determine trends, ensure compliance and identify opportunities for improvement. Serve as initial point of contact for Reasonable Accommodations and escalate issues to the HR Manager as appropriate

Coordinate HR programs and projects (i.e., Staples Soul programs, Open enrollment and benefit events)

Perform other related duties as required and assigned


Bachelor’s Degree required

1 – 2 years experience required

Excellent long-term and short-term planning skills

Effective communication skills when dealing with management and associates; both written and verbal

Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquires

Excellent follow up and organizational skills with the ability to multi task
