The Human Resources Coordinator contributes to FAS Human Resources achieving its mission: to attract and engage a diverse, talented staff committed to excellence and mutual respect, we strive to create an inclusive work environment that supports the growth and well being of all members of the FAS community.
The Human Resources Coordinator provides guidance, support, and coordination in the consistent and effective application of policies, procedures, and practices of the FAS Human Resources department.
The position reports to a team of HR Consultants for day to day work direction and to the Director of Organizational Effectiveness for performance management, administrative support and guidance.
Support to FAS Department/Employee:
Serves as HR resource and primary contact to assigned departments for all HR information on:
Policies and Benefits for
: Administrative Professional, HUCTW, Temporary and Less than Half-Time Employees, Interns, HU students and Extended Part-Time Employees.
(ASPERIN, PeopleSoft (time & labor, absence management), ASPIRE, and HR Crew Reporting.
(Initial review form, perform longer service checks, on-boarding new employees, merging positions)
Processes appointments and other transactions.
Reviews, corrects and approves all ASPERIN transactions. Verify accuracy of information by examining offer letters, ASPIRE postings, prior position history, etc.
Processes changes to employee records through the MIDAS system.
Requests off cycle checks for employees.
Troubleshoots, resolves and researches inquiries from Department Administrators and employees.
Provides proactive customer-focused service to departments and employees.
Reviews website to ensure it reflects answers to commonly asked questions by departments and provides suggested content.
Support to HR Consultant:
Provides facilitative support with HR matters relating to employee relations, organizational changes, planning and protecting the security of information, data and files.
Informs /notifies HR Consultant(s) of existing or potential employee relation issues, compliance violations, or problematic trends based on interactions with department administrators and employees.
Researches questions and issues. Makes recommendations for solutions and implement approved solutions
Responds to inquiries, provides information and prepares correspondence on an array of HR policies and procedures.
Liaisons with Office of General Counsel, Labor & Employee Relations and Benefits service group as requested by HR Consultant team to seek answers to standard questions.
Acts as liaison with Payroll on various HR related transactions and troubleshooting.
Compiles, designs and formats data for necessary reports, charts and spreadsheets.
Prepares, reviews, interprets, analyzes and approves employee data, information and reports.
Makes recommendations depending on analysis of data.
Coordinates large group meetings (secure space, time and date, catering decisions, send invitations) and manage attendee list.
Develops and maintains knowledge of individuals, processes, and workflows within portfolio departments.
Supports the team’s strategic priorities and demonstrates an ability to flex the execution of tasks appropriately based on priorities.
Support to FAS Human Resources
Works with HR team members to ensure effective meeting of organization objectives. Undertakes special projects related to issues of human resources
Conducts research, gathers data and statistical reports, and maintains statistical information.
Interacts with and supplies information to employees, department heads, and others as needed.
Provides relevant updates regarding area of focus to broader HR team, as needed.
Assumes responsibility for one area of focus (i.e. leaves, classifications, diversity, investigations).
General knowledge of HRIS & payroll systems
3-5 years administrative/customer service experience
Experience with MS Office (MS Word, MS Excel)
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task effectively
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Familiarity with PeopleSoft HRIS system
Experience in higher education or HR environment
