The HR Coordinator is responsible for the consistent administration and coordination of Human Resource systems and services to support Human Resource Consultants (HRC) with a focus on our Hire the Best process. Supports and collaborates with others on the HR team to support policies, procedures, plans and programs of the Human Resources function.Essential Responsibilities:
Addresses human resources process issues by diagnosing issues, developing alternatives, and applying the most appropriate alternative.
Effectively utilizes computer technology (i.e. HRIS) to facilitate and lead communication efforts, streamline Human Resources processes, and ensure effective delivery of services to employees.
Refers to policies and past practices for guidance
Receives general direction on standard work; receives detailed instruction on new assignments
Assist in special projects
Create and implement new policies and procedures
Cross train with other team members to provide backup coverage
Can handle sensitive information with the highest degree of integrity and confidentiality.
Support the HR Consultants (HRC) in the recruiting and staffing processes such as Recruiting Solutions application, scheduling and coordinating interviews
Coordinate and schedule applicant physicals, background check and drug screen
Update and maintain employee data in various systems such as PeopleSoft and EASI
Create Job Openings and Job Offers in Recruiting Solutions (RS)
Process Human Resource Action Forms (HRAF) for new hires and rehires and communicate the Employee ID via e-mail to the Hiring Manager and HRC
Coordinate with Human Resource Consultants (HRC) to facilitate the Hire the Best process including face to face and virtual meetings
Ensure proper record administration with imaging software to allow for accurate indexing and successful file retrieval
Handle employee calls and effectively follow-through to address and resolve issues
Assist the Substance Abuse Coordinator with drug and alcohol testing administration to ensure compliance with DOT regulations
Schedule Aptitude, Attitude, and Physical Capacity Assessment testing
Document testing results in Recruiting Solutions (RS) and communicate test results to applicants
Record, change, and update applicant dispositions and statuses in RS
Prepare applicants for hire in Recruiting Solutions (RS)
Maintain master list of testing results
Establish and maintain relationships with third party vendors (Hogan, First Advantage, BackTrack, etc.) to collect/retrieve testing results
Create reports based on established hiring metrics
Degree in Human Resources or related field or equivalent experience required
Knowledge, skills and abilities in Human Resources functions and its policies and procedures preferred.
Competent user of computer technology - Microsoft Office desktop tools and electronic communications such as e-mail, calendars, etc. PeopleSoft HR experience preferred.
Excellent call handling skills with effective follow-through to address HR Consultants inquiries/requests.
Excellent oral and written communication skills keeping others informed on initiatives and issues.
Results oriented and possess good problem solving skills.
Demonstration of excellent customer service skills.
Excellent teaming and interpersonal skills required. Ability to function in a team environment and collaborate within and across organizational lines.
Ability to manage daily responsibilities in a changing environment, in a professional, responsive manner.
Ability to maintain composure in a fast-paced, dynamic business environment
Ability to manage and execute tasks with multiple conflicting priorities. Seeks assistance as needed.
