The HR Coordinator is responsible for the consistent administration and coordination of Human Resource systems and services to support Human Resource Consultants. Supports and collaborates with others on the HR team to support policies, procedures, plans and programs of the Human Resources function.
Addresses human resources process issues by diagnosing issues, developing alternatives, and applying the most appropriate alternative.
Effectively utilizes computer technology (i.e. HRIS) to facilitate and lead communication efforts, streamline Human Resources processes, and ensure effective delivery of services to employees.
Assists in developing, implementing and sustaining a philosophy that fosters an environment of employee
Refers to policies and past practices for guidance
Receives general direction on standard work; receives detailed instruction on new assignments
Assist in special projects
Create and implement new policies and procedures
Cross train with other team members to provide backup coverage
Can handle sensitive information with the highest degree of integrity and confidentiality.
Support the HR Consultants (HRC) in the recruiting and staffing processes such as Recruiting Solutions application, scheduling and coordinating interviews
Coordinate and schedule applicant physicals, background check and drug screen
Investigate and resolve issues such as human resource, pay related, benefit, time keeping systems, etc.
Update and maintain employee data in various systems such as PeopleSoft, WorkBrain and EASI
Process Human Resource Action Forms (HRAF) for new hires, rehires, any non-Manager Desktop transactions, pay changes, and bargaining unit movement
Coordinate with Human Resource Consultants (HRC) organizational changes such as HRAF mass changes, Z-node updates, and security tree changes
Investigate vacation reconciliation/outstanding vacation balance issues
Administer employee wage progression process in a timely manner to prevent inaccurate payments
Process employee leave of absence requests i.e. FMLA and Military Leave
Ensure proper record administration with imaging software to allow for accurate indexing and successful file retrieval
Prepare PeopleSoft queries and other request for information
Handle employee calls and effectively follow-through to address and resolve issues
Process state and federal inquires for employee information in a timely manner
Assist the Substance Abuse Coordinator with drug and alcohol testing administration to ensure compliance with DOT regulations
Ensure proper HR records management operations and maintenance
Establish and maintain relationships with third party vendors for HR related administration
Process vendor invoices and payments
Process employee relocations and act as a liaison between employees and the relocation company
Degree in Human Resources or related field or equivalent experience required
Knowledge, skills and abilities in Human Resources functions and its policies and procedures preferred.
Competent user of computer technology - Microsoft Office desktop tools and electronic communications such as e-mail, calendars, etc. PeopleSoft HR experience preferred.
Excellent call handling skills with effective follow-through to address HR Consultants inquiries/requests.
Excellent oral and written communication skills keeping others informed on initiatives and issues.
Results oriented and possess good problem solving skills.
Demonstration of excellent customer service skills.
Excellent teaming and interpersonal skills required. Ability to function in a team environment and collaborate within and across organizational lines.
Ability to manage daily responsibilities in a changing environment, in a professional, responsive manner.
