DESCRIPTION

The Human Resource Generalist is responsible for a number of key HR activities in the
areas of employee relations, payroll, recruitment, selection, training, health and safety,
regulatory compliance, compensation, benefits and other HR duties.

DUTIES

Acts as a front-line resource to respond to compensation, benefit, payroll, and other
employee-related matters;
Maintains practices and objectives which will protect the interests of the
organization and provide for a positive employer-employee relationship;
  • Recruits, interviews, and assists management in selecting employees to fill vacant
positions;
  • Maintains appropriate EEO/AAP records;
Responsible to accurately process payroll, provide reports and record-keeping;
Coordinate training and development initiatives;
Ensures the consistent application of HR policies and procedures;
Maintains all employee files and complies with applicable confidentiality requirements;
  • Works with management on appropriate action for employee related issues, such as
discipline;
  • Responsible for coordinating leaves of absence with appropriate laws such as FMLA,
work comp and ADA;
  • Responsible for worker's compensation reporting, injury return-to-work and follow-up;
  • Coordinates safety, health and compliance requirements, including recordkeeping,
meetings and training;
  • Maintains current knowledge of new laws and regulations in the human resources
management area;
  • Responsible for understanding the 401(k); Assists with general questions and orientation to this benefit;
  • Must be a proactive and competent communicator and team member across functions and within HR department.
All other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

4-year degree with a focus in HR management, business or communication preferred;
Working knowledge of relevant employment and labor legislation;
Excellent interpersonal and follow-up communication skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong computer skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and HRIS;
Excellent attention to detail;
