Strategic HR business partner with support divisions. Support business plan themes or initiatives that impact the associate and/or work environment. Support town meetings/round tables. Effectively present HR information to leaders and associates for communication and understanding. Build and maintain positive relationships with associates and leaders. Provide HR guidance to division leaders and managers on policy interpretation, associate issues and HR procedures and practices. Effectively support and at times lead HR projects. Collect and analyze data for continuous improvement activities and implement countermeasures. Support customer in business decision analysis and implementation of effective countermeasures. Refinement and development of HAM policies and procedures. Conduct thorough, unbiased investigations and case reviews. Ensure accurate, complete and thorough documentation. Professionally manage corrective action with exempt and non-exempt associates. Provide support and direction on performance improvement plans and the mid year and end of year performance review process. Effectively lead succession planning activities and leadership development initiatives with division business partners. Support HAM legal team with court, depositions, hearings, unemployment, workers comp, etc. Monitor and support exempt and non-exempt associate adherence to HAM’s policies and procedures. Complete exit interviews. Conduct leadership training as appropriate.
Build relationships with leadership and associates “at the spot”. Consult, mentor and support the development of leadership to improve business characteristics. Conduct investigations and provide feedback as appropriate. Gather and assess sentiment. Provide presence at key events for customers (department and associate). Project support. Seek ways to improve the business. Build technical expertise in HR/Labor Relations. Communicate company level initiatives.
Minimum of three years HR or business-related experience in a manufacturing environment. Project leadership experience desired.
Knowledge and demonstration of the Honda Philosophy, Challenging Spirit and Respect for the Individual. Knowledge of HR laws and practices in the industry.
