The HR Generalist must have detailed knowledge of human resources practices and principles in the federal government contracting arena with an emphasis on the Service Contract Act. He/she will perform numerous functions related to Human Resources, such as new hire onboarding, benefits administration, payroll interface, employee training and development and compensation.

The HR Generalist will maintain constant contact with employees, presenting opportunities for employees to make requests and file complaints, and gathering information concerning overall morale.

The candidate must have at a minimum five (5) years of Human Resources experience.
      Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position)
      ·Provide expertise in HR functional areas.
      ·Provide guidance and support to managers and other staff departments.
      ·Responsible for on-boarding new employees.
      ·Assists employees with benefits issues and questions, when necessary.
      ·Maintains HR processes related to hiring, transfers, promotions, and terminations/resignations.
      ·Conducts e-Verify on new hires.
      ·Processes I-9’s of new employees.
      ·Assists with maintenance and communication of records required by law or local governing bodies, or other departments in the organization.
      ·Manages and maintains compliance of personnel files and electronic record keeping.
      ·Customize and enhance reports and data for management, as needed.
      ·Must be able to travel up to 10% of the time.
      ·Must be able to work flexible hours to include weekends and holidays.
      ·Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.

      Qualifications
      (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)
      Education and/or Experience:
      ·
      Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related discipline.
      ·A combination of five (5) to seven (7) years of directly related experience as an HR Generalist,
      ·Three (3) years of experience working in an Employee Relations capacity, preferably with SCA employees in a unionized environment.
      Computer Skills:
      ·
      Must have advanced knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database, (MSWord, Excel, PowerPoint), and Outlook.
      ·Costpoint, Taleo experience is desired.
      Certificates, Licenses, Registrations, Clearance:
      ·
      PHR/SPHR desired
      ·Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret level clearance.
