The HR Generalist will support the Molinos de Puerto Rico facility. This position is accountable for delivering exceptional HR business partnership to the approximately 100 employees in the location. This position provides assistance in all aspects of human resources, acts as a liaison between all levels of management and human resource professionals. The HR Generalist will report directly to the Molinos President/General Manager, with indirect reporting responsibilities to the Regional HR Manager.
Supervises the work of administrative support personnel. Ensures operating efficiency through the effective utilization of assigned resources. Organizes and maintains correspondence and projects, following up on pending matters with limited direction. Handles highly confidential information and files. Prepares special reports and correspondence, summarizing and analyzing data. Communicates with individuals at all levels in the organization, industry and community.
Primary contact for leaders and employees with questions regarding human resource policies or procedures, especially with respect to payroll, benefits and contract administration. “Own” the management of salaried and hourly staffing processes, equal employment opportunity/affirmative action planning processes, tracking and reporting of key HR metrics, and personnel records management, as well as other responsibilities as assigned.
Responsible for processing Payroll for all employees, on a weekly basis.
Own oversight/management of the HR administrative systems, including (but not limited to) PeopleSoft, SuccessFactors, Kronos, My Recipe, and Workscape. Ensure data accuracy and completeness through independent review from periodic audit reports and queries. Ensures flawless execution of all system-specific transactions. Provide detailed reporting as required.
Implementing employee relations practices and policies and providing highly competitive positioning within the food ingredient distribution industry.
Coaching/advising management on effective ways to administer HR programs and manage employee issues.
Implement training and development processes for needs assessment, design, implementation, and evaluation.
Assists and coordinates execution of periodic employee performance reviews. Coordinates periodic talent review & succession planning processes.
Implement timely management systems to enhance human resource process effectiveness.
Partnering in the development and reporting of key plant-specific personnel performance metrics, providing key customers and HR with meaningful, relevant data for use in decision-making.
Supervises miscellaneous on-going front-office administrative tasks such as file maintenance, answering the telephone, monitoring mail, assisting with correspondence and mailings, greeting guests, and trace show registration.
Completes projects and special assignments by establishing objectives; determining priorities; managing time; gaining cooperation of others; monitoring progress; problem-solving; making adjustments to plans.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
Travel as needed, up to 20%/
Other projects/duties as assigned.
Principal Challenges/Complexity :
Ensuring compliance with myriad federal, state, local and corporate personnel rules, policies and procedures while providing best-in-class customer support.
Ability to recognize potential areas of conflict between stakeholder groups and seek to resolve these in a professional, personable manner. Serving as “voice of the people” in the plant while at the same time representing the interests of the plant’s leadership team.
Ability to prioritize work effectively. Must be able to evaluate work to be completed and effectively/efficiently determinate order for its completion. Ability to manage work under firm daily, weekly, and monthly deadlines.
Monitoring and staying abreast of employee relations trends and practices through the analysis of external HR metrics and internal Key Personnel Indexes (KPI) data.
Protecting ConAgra Food’s interest while complying with government regulations, communicating awareness of the legal implications of all personnel actions.

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, social sciences or related degree required.
Minimum of 3 years of solid human resource specialist/generalist experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Experience in payroll processing is highly desired.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Excellent communications skills, both verbally and written.
Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including (but not limited to) Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Access and SharePoint experience a plus.
Ability to work in a matrix organization, with complex reporting responsibilities and interaction with diverse set of stakeholders.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work in a team environment and demonstrate a high degree of tact, discretion and diplomacy.
Ability to manage multiple priorities with limited direction.
