DLA Piper, a leader in the practice of law worldwide, seeks a Human Resource Generalist for its Baltimore office. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, this position will provide Human Resources service and support to the Baltimore, Wilmington and Philadelphia offices.

Job Duties:

-Delivers HR services inclusive of, but not limited to, benefits (in compliance with HIPAA rules), compensation, employee orientation and training, and employee relations.

-Addresses and resolves routine employee relations issues. Works with Director of Human Resources on complex and difficult employee relations issues.

-Understands and articulates firm HR policies and procedures in support of the firm's values and standards.

-Ensures all PeopleSoft data entry is 100% accurate and provides reports for Director as needed.

-Assists in the development and implementation of Human Resources programs and services.

Assists with annual performance management program for the respective offices.

-Ensures compliance with federal and state legislation.

-Other related duties as assigned.

The position requires:

-Three years of experience Human Resources and a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for degree requirement. Professional certification in Human Resources (PHR) preferred.

-Experience in benefits administration, new hire orientation, employee relations, and knowledge of state and local news.

-Strong communication and interpersonal skills required to interact with the lawyers and staff on a regular basis. Ability to relate to people of various ethnic, cultural, and geographical persuasions.

-Must be action-oriented, have excellent time management skills and be able to maintain a professional demeanor at all times.

-Strong computer skills in Microsoft Word or Excel.

-Experience with HRIS; PeopleSoft preferred.
