Employee Relations Specialist/HR Business Partner
The HR Generalist provides general HR employee relations and administrative support to internal client groups, managers, and employees under the direction of the Senior HR Business Partner. The HR Generalist contributes to creating and maintaining efficient work processes and systems in the HR department. This position will be the first point of contact to internal customers for HR matters and will participate and contribute to HR projects.
Administers various HR programs, plans and procedures for all company personnel; assists in development and implementation of personnel policies and procedure. Works effectively within HR Business Partner model to consult with other HR functions, Business Partners and technical experts in the course of regular daily work.
Manage employee records, maintaining and developing the filing system of personnel records; establishing, organizing and maintenance of department records, ensuring complete accuracy, compliance and confidentiality.
Performs employee relations tasks which may involve problem resolution, enhancing communication, training and career development in multiple locations. Work closely with management and provide guidance in resolving and mediating employee relations matters. Investigate employee relations issues and provide sound guidance in resolving concerns.
Administers the company discipline procedure. Guide and assist managers in the development and issuance of performance, behavior and attendance discipline, including warnings and the follow-up and monitoring of employee progress as well as maintain appropriate employee disciplinary records.
Monitor and facilitate the annual goal planning and review process for employees; Train management on performance evaluation applications. Coach management in writing effective evaluations.
During regular interactions with managers is responsible for ensuring job descriptions are updated and are an accurate reflection of incumbent positions and is provided to Comp & Benefits team for library maintenance.
Facilitate new hire employee orientation as part of the Ecova HR team. Ensure all appropriate documentation is received and properly filed. Oversees on boarding processes for the Portland and remote sites as assigned across Ecova. Responsible for ensuring consistency in practices in partnership with other HR colleagues across all business units within Ecova.
Local point of contact for HRIS systems support; providing solutions to questions or problems, support HR department with analysis reports generation, provide guidance to users by understanding the needs of the HR organization and how to use systems to support those needs, train users in new and/or enhanced systems, troubleshoot user problems, interface with Payroll department and IT department to communicate user issues, regularly review users procedures/workflow to ensure system features are being fully utilized, identify features that may improve efficiency. Be the employee contact for all employees re: system issues such as addressing concerns from managers and employees.
Preparing, reviewing, interpreting, analyzing a variety of data, information and reports, and making recommendations depending on findings.
Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
Responsible for exit interviews, the data and preparing department reports. Responsible for compiling reports to be presented to management. May lead and/or participate in termination processes.
Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
A bachelor's degree and 3 to five 5 years of Human Resources HR generalist and/or employee relations experience. Preferred proficiency in and experience dealing with HR related laws and policies.
PHR certification preferred.
Familiarity with HR Business Partner model preferred.
Strong interpersonal, communication and conflict resolution skills.
Strong ability to analyze, evaluate and solve problems.
Ability to prioritize, multi-task and prioritize workflow in a fast paced environment.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
Ability to work with all levels of staff and management.
Ability to work in a team-oriented and collaborative environment.
Desire to coach and develop others to ensure “best in class” delivery of HR services
Knowledge of MS Office and HRIS system.
