ESS's non-sectarian work focuses on strengthening children, families and adults through programs in foster care and adoption, early childhood education, after‐school initiatives, and group homes for developmentally disabled adults.

ESS is currently seeking a competent and results-driven HR Generalist Specializing in Onboarding, to join our Human Resources and Training Department in Manhattan. HR Generalist will be responsible for a wide array of Human Resources Functions. Reporting to the Assistant Director of HR, the Generalist will provide strong support in the areas of recruitment, background checks, administrative support, and program support.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
-Working closely with the Training Manager to coordinate the New Hire Process
-Scheduling onboarding appointments
-Processing new hire paperwork, and verifying credentials and identities
-Registering staff members and scheduling trainings
-Conducting reference checks, employment verifications and other background checks as needed
-Frequent communication with program management in order to continually assess and resolve staffing needs
-Other tasks as assigned

Qualifications:
-Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or any other relevant field.
-1-2 years experience in Human Resources (this may include internships).
-Prior experience with HRB or other relevant HRIS preferred.
-Strong communication skills.
-Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Applications, such as Word and Excel
-Prior experience working in social services preferred.
-Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred but not required.
-Should be comfortable handling a high volume of phone calls and be eager to build professional
relationships with employees and managers.

Hours:
Monday through Friday, 9:00 am- 5:00 pm

Compensation:

$28,000-$32,000 per annum
