Good Samaritan Hospital, a leading Silicon Valley hospital located in San Jose, seeks a hard-working and resourceful HR Generalist. Good Samaritan is part of HCA, the largest hospital operator in the US.
The HR generalist will have its "own book of business" and manage the day-to-day operations of the HR office for a specific service area. Experience working in a union environment and in-depth knowledge of California wage and hour law, leave management, and employment discrimination law (i.e., ADA, DFEH, FMLA, CFRA, Title VII) are required.
The HR Generalist carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: departmental development, HRIS, employee relations, training and development, benefits, compensation, payroll, organizational development, and employment. Reports to the Human Resources Director, and assists and advises company managers about Human Resources issues.
Experience working in a union environment and in depth knowledge of California wage and hour and employment law required.
's degree and three (3) to five (5) years of Human Resources experience, OR master' degree in Human Resources Management and two (2) years of experience in the HR field, or equivalent work experience required.
Senior Professional in Human Resources CA (SPHR-CA) or Professional in Human Resources CA (PHR-CA) certification strongly preferred.
Healthcare experience preferred.
