This position will assist in various human resources functions: employee relations, training, benefits and various general employee-related activities and services. This role will be located in Houston in the interim until the project moves to site (Lusby, Maryland) late summer/early fall.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not necessarily limited to the following.
• Able to develop and maintain project roster and org charts
• Has a in-depth understanding of HR SAP process
• Experience in Excel, Access and SharePoint.
• Assist in the preparation of the annual Affirmative Action Plan
• Engage managers in the development and updates of job descriptions
• Resource for employees for benefits questions, policy interpretation and problem resolution
• Participate in the annual employee engagement survey
-Coordination of the survey
-Analyzing the results
-Action Plan development and implementation
• Conduct new employee first day orientation
• Conduct employee exit interviews
• Assist with coordination of annual performance review process
• Manage and updates policies
• Assist in gathering information for various Human Resources reports
• Monitor and coordinate employee status changes
• Compile monthly DOR reporting and other HR metrics and reports
• Manage FMLA, STD, LOA’s and other processes
• Other human resources projects as required

COMPUTER SKILLS Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Power Point, Word and Excel). Experience with SharePoint and SAP HRIS systems preferred.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor of Science in Human Resources, Business, Psychology or other related field, plus 2 to 5 years experience in Human Resources with practical experience in general human resources functions. Strong work ethic and professional demeanor required with the ability to quickly form business partnerships at all levels; effective time management and organization skills, excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills; self starter with strong presentation skills; demonstrated attention to detail and work accuracy.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS PHR, SPHR or other applicable human resources certification preferred.
