Job Description

HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST, MIT Federal Credit Union (MITFCU), to be responsible for MITFCU’s day-to-day HR functions, serving as a key resource to employees and management and providing guidance and support to employees on career development, benefits, and issues affecting work. Will coach, council, advise, and support managers/VPs in full life-cycle recruitment and staffing; new employee orientation and onboarding; performance management; employee engagement/satisfaction; rewards and recognition; employee relations; and issues related to compliance, policies, and procedures. Other duties include processing job promotions, transfers, personnel changes/leaves, time and attendance, timesheets, temporary staff, and other transactional operations; generating reports and spreadsheets; and handling other assigned projects.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: a bachelor's degree in HR, organizational development, business administration, or related field; a minimum of three years’ progressive HR experience focusing on two or more of the following: full cycle recruiting, performance management, employee relations, employee training and development, employee engagement/satisfaction, or organizational development; applied knowledge of HR-related federal, state, and local laws and regulations; exceptional ability to build relationships and to coach, council, advise, and influence others on HR matters; solid understanding of the HR role; high level of initiative and ability to get results; excellent judgment and ability to handle sensitive confidential information; strong critical thinking and problem solving skills; developed ability to listen and process issues in an unbiased manner and make sound recommendations; ability to work individually and in teams; excellent organizational, interpersonal, and oral and written communication skills; attention to detail; and advanced Word, Excel (including database functions), PowerPoint, and Outlook skills and ability to learn new IT applications. S/PHR certification strongly preferred. Training/facilitation experience also preferred. Job #10494-N
