Provides a full range of HR support and program implementation activities across multiple functions including recruitment, compensation, employee relations, HRIS and special projects as needed.
Participates in the recruitment process by screening job applicants, including assisting with the testing of secretarial and police personnel.
Keeps track of all police applicants and where they are in the process, sends out letters and schedules appointments for candidates who are granted conditional offers of employment.
Attends job fairs and assists with posting vacancies on the internet and on social media.
Assists with compensation related issues including determination of FLSA status and salary assessments.
Assists in creating new positions and ensuring accuracy in HR reports.
Processes PeopleSoft transactions on a timely basis to meet Payroll deadlines and ensures correct payments to employees.
Prepares general correspondence regarding salary adjustments to employees and representatives from other MTA agencies.
Reviews HRIS data to ensure accuracy and generates ad hoc queries to ensure data integrity.
Makes recommendations for needed updates and enhancements.
Creates new Job Codes as needed.
Provides recommendations for modifications to PeopleSoft as necessary.
Maintains and understands PeopleSoft tables and how the data may have an effect on downstream areas such as benefits, payroll and time and labor.
Run queries as needed.
Produces and updates organizational charts.
Assists with the investigation and resolution of employee concerns/complaints.
Assists with employee recognition programs/events; conducts related research.
Assists with maintenance of personnel files.
Performs other duties as required to function as an integral member of the MTA Headquarters Human Resources Division in accomplishing overall department goals and objectives.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint required
Proficiency in PeopleSoft (8.8 or above) required
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree and 4 years of Human Resources experience in Compensation, Recruitment, Employee Relations, HRIS or a satisfactory combination of education and experience.
