Monsanto is seeking a highly motivated individual to join the Biotechnology Human Resources team as an HR Generalist. This role will provide critical HR support across multiple programs in the Biotechnology function within the Technology R&D division. This position will work closely with people leaders and HR business partners to ensure compliance with employment law and Monsanto policies and procedures. The major responsibilities include employee relations, performance management coaching, leadership development and increasing team effectiveness. This role will also partner across the Technology R&D Human Resources team on all key HR initiatives.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop effective relationships with HR business partners, employees, and people managers

  • Influence and guide front line managers through controversial and/or complex situations

  • Provide counsel and assist employees and people managers in resolving complex Human Resource problems, including disciplinary counseling, legal issues and terminations

  • Assist the HR business partners with the application of all basic HR processes including performance reviews, incentive planning and talent reviews/succession planning

  • Partner with appropriate HR specialist teams, such as talent acquisition, compensation, organizational development and benefits, to deliver HR operational excellence across programs

  • Facilitate training and development workshops to increase team effectiveness

  • Conduct exit interviews

  • Assist in execution of effective people strategies
Required Skills/Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Psychology or related field of study

  • 3+ years progressive Human Resources experience

  • Ability to partner with management to determine HR implications of business strategy and plan actions accordingly

  • Ability to set consistent HR direction and practice across multiple teams and functions

  • Working knowledge of best practice HR policies/procedures, as well as local, state and federal employment laws

  • Flexible and able to respond quickly to changing job demands and prioritize multiple responsibilities

  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail

  • Ability to work comfortably and influence employee and line managers of a diverse organization

  • Ability to work well in a highly matrixed environment

  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • A person that has presence and can voice their opinion and ideas respectfully to others

Desired Skills/Experience:
  • MBA or Masters Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Psychology or related field of study

  • HR Generalist or employee relations experience

  • HR experience with a Scientific or Technology based organization

  • HR experience with a large global organization
