Job Description
: We have an exciting opportunity for an HR Generalist to join the leading manufacturer / distributor of drive-train parts to the motor vehicle repair industry. The company founded in 1975, has sales/ warehouse locations across the United States that serve independent and franchise transmission repair shops, automotive general repair businesses, production rebuilders, and resellers.

The HR Generalist will develop meaningful and trusting relationships with leaders and employees. You will work to create a common culture across the merged entities and execute HR strategies based on business needs. This key position will report to an offsite HR manager. Specific responsibilities include:

• Provide day to day coaching and guidance to line management

• Ensure managers are aligned with policies and programs.

• Manage basic to complex employee relations issues where standard policies apply and risk is moderate to the company.

• May get involved in investigations where legal risk is high. Ensure Site HR Leader is apprised of all situations involving legal risk.

• Counsel employees concerning work-related problems.

• Partner with corporate HR and site level teams to identify, develop, implement and manage HR programs.

• Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvement in efficiency of department and services performed at the site level

• Work closely with site HR Leader and line management to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention.

• Participate in the development and evaluation of training programs, performing follow-up to ensure training objectives are met.

• Participate in relevant business and HR meetings.

• Participate in new employee orientation and new manager training.

• Support Corp Benefits team and Matrix in proactively managing LOA situations. Monitor usage and make recommendations for issues.

Position Requirements:

• 4 year degree

• 2+ years experience in an HR Generalist, or directly related, role.

• Experienced working in a high activity manufacturing, or similar, environment strongly preferred

• Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities in a quick moving and change oriented environment

• Can manage complex and ambiguous situations and independently drive to solutions

• Ability to analyze, diagnose and solve moderate to highly complex problems

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including presentation skills

• Possess strong desire to work in a collaborative team environment

• Able to develop strong and trusting relationships with all levels of employees, including mid to senior level management

• Competent in using Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word

SPHR/PHR Certification a plus
