Pentair's Filtration & Process business
is a global leader in the residential, commercial, municipal and industrial markets, providing solutions for the toughest filtration, separation and fluid process management challenges, as well as delivering water treatment, softening, and specialty pumps systems to customers worldwide. Specific end-markets include oil and gas, power generation, chemical, food and beverage, pharmaceutical, foodservice, medical and municipal and industrial desalination, water and wastewater treatment. Additionally, Pentair products are used in the manufacturing of water softeners, filtration and deionization systems, marine and recreational vehicles (RV) applications, and commercial and residential water filtration applications.
Partner with site Human Resources Manager to provide HR support to the White Bear Lake employees. Support office administration where considerable trust and accuracy are involved.
Physical & Mental Demands
Multi-shift manufacturing environment. Manufacturing floor with fork lift traffic, machinery, noise and variable temperatures. Must be willing to wear required PPE. Stress due to multiple deadlines and job tasks.
Essential Job Functions
Full cycle recruitment for non-exempt / hourly positions to include posting positions as well as sourcing and identifying top talent. Attending career fairs. Recruiting for interns.
Manage temporary headcount by identifying new agencies, managing existing contracts, and tracking temporary labor.
Administer Corporate HEALTH Program and act as point of contact for benefits related questions. Work with Aon and Pentair Benefits Direct to resolve issues around benefits.
Counsel Operations team on proper administration of company polices and appropriate disciplinary action.
Partner with Facilities Manager to lead Safety Committee and drive safety initiatives, improving site incident frequency rate. Ensure Safety training is completed per training schedule. Investigate and record safety incidents. Update Corporate Safety report on a monthly basis.
Work with Leave Management vendor to manage FMLA, Disability, and Leave of Absence policies to ensure proper tracking and payment of benefits.
Produce material of all grades and character which may be of a highly confidential and important nature, and perform various clerical duties and assignments from the HR Manager and Director as necessary.
Own new hire onboarding process to including mailing of welcome packet, new hire orientation and creating new employee files.
Enter data for new hires, employee maintenance, and terminations into HRIS, while maintaining confidentiality on the information. Run reports as required from HRIS (PeopleSoft).
Initiate Exit Interview survey and review reports to determine trends.
Assist supervisors with daily administration of Kronos time and attendance system. Approve payroll for weekly hourly and bi-weekly salaried payroll.
Update site headcount report on a monthly basis, consolidating headcount numbers.
Maintain hourly and salaried vacation & attendance reporting.
Maintain AAP logs and flow charts for all site applications received and any job movement activity. Prepare, send and file rejection letters for job applicants as required.
Enter and complete background checks on potential hires as required. Prepare orientation packets for new hires and set up new employee files.
Register employees for seminars and/or training classes; prepare, send, collect and file seminar evaluation forms.
Administer employee relations programs (seniority, birthday, employee of the month, etc).
Update and maintain the communication station and administration through Electronic Communication Board.
Process proper paperwork for tuition reimbursement programs, and computer reimbursement program.
Pentair Foundation committee member. Manage Cybergrants account to ensure proper selection of grant recipient and distribution of funds.
Coordinate travel package information for applicants and new hires. Act as the Administrator for the US Bank Access account for P-card and T&E card administration.
Maintain security badge system and issue/collect badges as needed.
Act as employee and vendor contact for vending problems and control reimbursement of lost cash.
Participate and/or lead process improvement projects when necessary
Responsible for employee records management.
Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related discipline. Certification or advanced education / training in HR strongly desired (PHR, SPHR). Bilingual in English/Spanish
- Experience: 3+ years of experience with generalist responsibilities in a manufacturing or distribution environment preferred.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle situations calmly and swiftly.
- Possess above average communication skills.
- Ability to relate well to other people and deal with employees at multiple levels.
- Accurate attention to details and handling of confidential data are required.
- Strong organizational skills and demonstrated initiative is required.
