The HR Generalist will be responsible for supporting company-wide functional areas of HR with the duties and responsibilities outlined below. Primary focus is on recruiting, employee relations, and training. This Full-Time Exempt position reports directly to the HR Director.

  • Administers various corporate HR programs, policies, and procedures for all company personnel; assists in development, and interpretation of personnel policies and procedures; maintains employee handbook and policies and procedures manual.
  • Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and systems. Recommends new approaches, policies, procedures and programs to effect continual improvement of Human Resource Development (HRD) to further streamline processes for efficiency of department and services performed. Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals.
  • Monitors performance management program and conducts supervisory training to ensure compliance to program requirements; administers compensation program.
  • Maintains affirmative action program and coordinates annual update/analyses with vendor; files government reports (EEO-1 and VETS-100A); maintains other records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
  • Keeps abreast of legislative changes and maintains compliance with federal and state employment law, especially new OFCCP regulations regarding veterans and individuals with disabilities (VEVRRA and Section 503 Final Rule).
  • Responsible for Talent Acquisition/Management, which includes utilization of iCIMS Hiring Platform, direct communication with Hiring Managers, and candidates, as needed. Serves as iCIMS trainer and administrator, supporting Hiring Managers in the hiring process, to include assisting with disposition of applicants.
  • Conducts/supports recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, students, and temporary employees.
  • Supports contract staffing requirements, to include preparation of position descriptions, development of criteria and required skills, knowledge and abilities and reviews/screens applicants and conducts interviews.
  • Supports and mediates employee issues/complaints, to include guiding/advising supervisors on progressive discipline policy; responds to employee relation issues, such as employee complaints, harassment allegations, and civil rights complaints and conducts investigations in concert with HR Director.
  • Responsible for facilitation and coordination of training classes for employees and supervisors; i.e., harassment prevention, ethics, affirmative action, diversity, etc.
  • Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings, seminars, workshops, and conferences as needed.
  • Maintains company organization charts; tracks and provides reports (i.e., tuition reimbursement, weekly staffing report).
  • Serves as backup to maintain Human Resource Information System records and compilation of reports from database;
  • Supports all aspects of HR when required.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

  • Qualifications & Clearance Requirements:


  • Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of HR bodies of knowledge, to include Workforce Planning and Employment, Human Resource Development, Compensation and Benefits, Employee Relations, and Risk Management.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills; critical thinking and problem-solving skills; proficient at managing several processes concurrently; and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrates practical application and exercise of judgment with respect to HR policies, processes, employment law and government compliance regulations (i.e., FLSA, ADA, FMLA, EEOC, GINA, HIPAA, COBRA)
  • Intermediate level user of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Experience with Service Contract Act (SCA) Wage Determination (WD) employees
  • Experience working with iCIMS Talent Management Platform and ADP Workforce Now/HRB Solutions
  • Experience with development/maintenance of a compensation program
  • Microsoft Visio experience a plus.
  • Ideal candidate has the ability to work independently and meet deadlines with attention to detail; excellent organization and time management skills; flexible and adaptable to change in a dynamic environment, along with the ability to learn quickly.


  • A bachelor's degree and five (5) years of progressive and relevant HR experience while demonstrating a broad and in-depth knowledge base of several HR bodies of knowledge, to include Workforce Planning and Employment, HRD, Compensation and Benefits, Employee Relations, and Risk Management.
  • Seven (7) years of progressive experience encompassing several HR bodies of knowledge, OR
  • Any similar combination of education and experience.
  • PHR or SPHR certification.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of employee relations experience.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of HR experience in a federal government contracting environment.
  • Experience working within a team environment, demonstrating skills as a facilitator, communicator, and teambuilder.
