Provide adequate assistance and guidance, including the necessary follow-up on company policies, procedures, documentation and support to all employees, supervisors and executive personnel as needed at the Port Angeles facilities. This position supervises one HR Assistant.
Essential Job Functions
â€¢ Will assist in developing, implementing, and administering Westport Shipyard Company Policies and HR Policies.
â€¢ Will manage and be responsible for all employment recruiting and staffing needs for facility operations; including internal and external postings, employment ad placement, job description development and orientation.
â€¢ Will assist in developing and facilitating supervisory and or employee training; to include the research, development, administration, and scheduling of in house or out of house materials and programs.
â€¢ Responsibilities include employee and management relations functions which may require providing counseling and or assisting supervisors in directing and issuing appropriate discipline as needed leading up to suspension and or terminations.
â€¢ Will be responsible for the education, issuance, review, and management of performance appraisals and their contents.
â€¢ Will be required to confirm adequate and prompt posting and compliance with all required law and safety employment related postings and Westport Shipyard HR postings in all appropriate locations in the facility. To include Job descriptions, policies, newsletters etc.
â€¢ Will manage and coordinate all federal and state medical or other required or company approved leaves including FMLA, military, maternity, jury duty, personal, etc.
â€¢ Five years experience in Human Resources (manufacturing field preferred); or a four year degree in Human Resources or related field and two years experience. A high level of ability, familiarity, and experience gained from working directly in and with all areas of duties listed in Job Description.
â€¢ Must have reading, math and writing skills adequate to perform all duties outlined in Job Description.
â€¢ Must have computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
â€¢ Operate miscellaneous office equipment.
â€¢ All duties will require frequent sitting, walking, standing, and the fine manipulation of hands with occasional bending, twisting, pushing and pulling. Office supplies, mail or other items that may need to be lifted and or carried may weigh up to 50 pounds.
â€¢ Must maintain an excellent attendance record following all company policies and procedures in the Employee Handbook and safety rules.
â€¢ May be required to participate in training classes provided by Westport Shipyard.
