Qualifications/Required Skills:
Bachelors degree in human resources, organizational development or a related field of study. A minimum of 3-5 years of previous work experience in a senior level HR generalist role. Must have previous multi-unit responsibility within the hospitality industry. PHR/SPHR certification and other industry certifications or education to support on-the-job effectiveness. Self-starter who can work independently and on several tasks/projects simultaneously, and who can lend strategic contribution to functional areas of the business outside of HR. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Impeccable follow-through, with strong initiative in identifying and resolving problems timely and effectively. Technologically savvy, preferably with knowledge of Lawson payroll and Success Factors HRIS, as well as high proficiency in all Microsoft Office programs. Exceptional interpersonal skills with strong ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and management; Ability to promote and participate in team environment concepts. Demonstrated success in interfacing with a variety of organizational functions and divisions to accomplish tasks. Flexibility and mobility to meet the needs of various locations. Hours may be extended or irregular to include nights, weekends and holidays with extensive travel. We currently seek a skilled and polished human resources professional to provide HR expertise for Belmont Park in Elmont, Long Island, as well as Saratoga Race Course in Saratoga Springs.

Principal Function:
The HR Manager will be responsible for the overall management of Centerplate's human resources systems and practices for both Belmont and Saratoga. They will serve as a strategic business partner, teaming with senior managers in executing operational priorities. He or she will work closely with onsite management teams to provide counsel on local, state and Federal compliance issues and interpretation of company policies and procedures. They will provide support and will drive compliance in the areas of payroll, training, benefits administration, recruitment and employee relations.
The HR Manager will have dual reporting to the Eastern Regional HR Director, as well as the General Manager of Centerplate at NYRA. They will work to support and monitor implementation of Corporate initiatives, and to drive adherence and consistency across all district units and lines of business. He or she will operate with some independence to ensure fairness and objectivity for all employees, while supporting Centerplate's vision, mission and values.

Essential Responsibilities:
Contribute to the goal of making Centerplate #1 in Event Hospitality and the #1 Employer of Choice through personal commitment and leading by example. Leverage the capabilities of the unit level workforce by managing day-to-day HR practices for Centerplate?s operations at Belmont and Saratoga. Work to embed cultural change and accelerate strategic execution. Perform tasks and participate in projects related to the development, implementation and maintenance of organizational business strategies and Corporate HR initiatives.
