Pentair's Filtration & Process business

Job Summary

Position Overview


The HR Manager will provide comprehensive and strategic leadership and support in a variety of areas to include talent management, recruiting and staffing, compensation, benefits, legal compliance, policy and procedure development and administration, positive employee relations, safety, and strategic planning that further the mission, values and strategic vision for Pentair Filtration Solutions and the Glendale facility.

Primary Responsibilities:
Reporting to the business unit Human Resources Director, this role is responsible for partnering with business/functional leaders at the facility on a broad range of HR initiatives and programs in support of the manufacturing and business development activities for the Glendale location. Primary responsibilities will include:

Employee relations

: This plant is non-union with a diverse employee population. Building actions plans to improve employee relations to maximize productivity and capitalize on growth opportunities for the business.

Compensation & Benefits

: Evaluating compensation structure, job grade assignment, incentive plans, and salary and making recommendations for change or improvement. Managing existing corporate driven comp and benefit programs and creatively introducing new employee benefits to improve positive employee relations or drive business results.

Talent Management

: Performance management process, talent acquisition, and talent development are critical success factors. Management and leadership training and development and individual personal and career development for employees at the location.

Continuous Improvement

: Reviewing existing processes and focusing on improvement of tools, digitization, process controls, etc. while maximizing operating efficiency.

Change Management

: Effectively leads and manages change throughout the facility and leads the site’s cultural change and integration within the GBU and Pentair.

Essential Job Functions:
Manages HR processes such as performance management, staffing, training initiatives, compensation, career development, employee relations, positive employee relations, and HR policy development.

Evaluates current compensation structures, career paths and incentive plans, and makes recommendations. Manages existing corporate driven compensation and benefit programs.

Represents a broad range of objectives, initiatives, and interface points to customers both internally and externally.

Examines existing processes and focuses on improvement of processes, tools, process controls and ongoing assessments.

Contributes to management training, innovation and project training, and personal development.

Manages and contributes to the performance management process, talent acquisition, and talent development and retention.

Reviews current organization structure and recommends improvements to align the business with future needs.

Detects and handles employee relations issues and works with client leadership to identify and implement solutions.

Manages the day-to-day activities and timely follow-up of any Ethics Compliance Hotline activities.

Provides guidance and coaching to supervisors and employees on organizational capacity issues when requested or when needed to improve a department’s performance or relationships.

Participates in corporate and business unit HR leadership councils, to support the human resource functions.

Supports plant Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) initiatives.

Job Requirements & Skills

Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related discipline.

Experience: 4-7 years of progressive HR experience with industry-leading companies in a manufacturing environment.

Experience in culture change and change management.

Strong communication, facilitation skills.

Familiarity of Labor Law and Human Resource practices.

Solid project execution skills.

Effective problem-solving/analytical skills.

Able to think strategically and translate strategies into actionable plans.

Ability to work independently while handling multiple projects.

Ability to deal with employees at all levels and maintains good employee relations.

Above average attention to detail.

Handle stressful situations calmly and swiftly.

Desired Qualifications

Masters degree in HR, MBA, certification or advanced education/training in HR (SPHR, PHR, CCP, or CEBS).

Understanding of Lean and/or Six Sigma methodologies.

Experience with acquisition and integration.
