Department

Under the direction of the Regional Director of Human Resources, responsible for developing, implementing and coordinating Human Resource policies and programs, performs diversified duties in the administration and management of the Human Resources function for the assigned location(s), to include but not limited to, employment, compensation, benefits, training, employee relations, communications and organizational development.

Job Description

  • Implements human resources policies to meet organization needs and comply with state and federal laws.
  • Provides HR counseling and advice to site management on a variety of issues.
  • Adhere to the HR budget for areas of responsibility.
  • Implements communications systems to ensure all groups/locations have access to information in a timely manner.
  • Administrates daily management of HR activities such as recruitment, performance review, benefits, training, employee relations, and organizational development issues.
  • Participates on regularly scheduled meetings with other human resources managers to exchange information and provide ongoing support and problem resolution.
  • Assists in the implementation of training at location(s) in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, sexual harassment and diversity awareness.
  • Prescreens applicants and conduct preliminary interviews of applicants. Coordinates final interviews with appropriate Manager(s).
  • Assures that all necessary pre-employment/post-employment examinations have been completed (drug screening, references, clerical testing, and criminal background checks).
  • Maintains location bulletin boards and Company Records in an up-to-date and legal compliant manner.
  • Support locations and company recognition programs.
  • Manages the workers compensation and LOA/FMLA process and tracking for the location(s).
  • Investigates and advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
  • Responds to inquires regarding employment, verifications, benefits, payroll, employment opportunities, policies, procedures and programs.
  • Provides basic compensation administration and counsel to clients.
  • Assists clients in performance management initiatives.
  • Conducts new employee orientations and leader onboarding.
  • Perform other related duties as required and/or assigned.
Requirements

BA or equivalent in Human Resources preferred; five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience; considerable knowledge of principles and practices of Human Resources Administration; knowledge of laws and regulations relating to EEOC, Wage and Hour, OSHA, etc.; self-starter; good judgment; strong written and oral communication skills; multi-tasking.

1. Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Human Resources with 1+ year(s) as Human Resources Manager or above.

2. Broad knowledge of employment, compensation, employee relations. Strong management skills - principles and people.

3. High energy level, comfortable performing multifaceted projects in conjunction with day to day activities.

4. Customer Service Orientation. Superior interpersonal abilities. Ability to get along with diverse personalities, tactful, mature and flexible.

5. Judgement skills. Good reasoning abilities. Results and people oriented, but have sound judgement.

6. Strong communication skills - written and oral. Must be able to prepare comprehensive reports and represent ideas clearly and concisely.

7. Resilience - is able to bounce back after rejection or an unsatisfactory interaction.

8. Initiative - self starting, takes action to achieve goals beyond what is required, being pro-active.

9. Decisive - ability to establish credibility and be decisive, but be able to recognize and support their companies' preferences and priorities.

10. Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of Human Resources Administration.

11. Must possess considerable knowledge of management-labor relations.

12. Must possess knowledge of laws and regulations relating to EEOC, Wage & Hour, OSHA, etc.

13. Ability to interpret personnel rules, laws and policies.

14. Sensitivity - take action based on an accurate appraisal of the feelings, motives, needs and skills of others.
