Our client, a top financial media company, is looking for an HR Manager in NYC.

This is a contract to hire position.

In this role, the HR Manager provides HR business partnership to several of our Product and Business Segments. This role will provide hands-on HR consultancy and solutions across many areas including organization design, change management, employee engagement and culture, talent and performance management, career and leadership development, recruitment and retention, and role/compensation/incentive alignment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic HR support and solutions to enable the business in reaching core goals
  • Work with leaders to identify organizational and workforce needs, evaluate options, and develop and implement targeted solutions
  • Facilitate on-going talent discussions with business leaders and ensure key talent and high potentials are retained and developed
  • Work with managers on performance goals and performance improvement strategies and metrics. Provide coaching and guidance through performance management process and follow up on trends and larger picture issues. Plan and facilitate annual ratings calibration process and related performance activities
  • Work with leaders to analyze employee engagement results and plan employee communications and follow up activities. Help set engagement goals and participate in driving improvements, measure progress and connect input from employees and culture to trends and work with teams on improvements
  • Provide and facilitate training/development for employees and leaders in support of business objectives, corporate programs and career planning
  • Ensure roles are accurate and aligned globally, evaluate, and market price on a consistent basis. Engage Compensation as appropriate
  • Work on a variety of projects relative to the development and implementation of HR programs and initiatives. At times, serve as a project manager leading initiatives across the organization
  • Coordinate and participate with other HR team members on initiatives and programs
  • Perform HR-related acquisition due diligence and integration activities as needed
  • Develop and track success factors and metrics for HR levers associated with business goals
  • Partner to develop solid recruitment and on-boarding processes for attracting, selecting and retaining the best talent. Track turnover trends and develop strategies to mitigate issues. Work with recruiters and team to fill openings with qualified candidates
  • Perform other HRBP generalist duties and responsibilities as required or requested
  • Leverage internal HR resources available as needed, including Recruitment, Compensation, Talent and Culture, HR Services, and Operations to deliver business and employee needs
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or related field: Master's degree in HR/MBA a plus
  • 7+ years of progressive, professional human resources generalist experience including project leadership, organization design, employee relations, recruitment, compensation, and employment law
  • Leadership experience and awareness in organization design principles and application a plus
  • Demonstrated strength in leadership influence at multiple levels, both in-person and remotely
  • Proven project management skills, including the ability to effectively handle multiple, concurrent projects and meet aggressive deadlines
  • Demonstrated aptitude and passion for organization design and change management to support a high performing organization
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to build and maintain positive relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Proven oral and written communication abilities: demonstrated ability to work with a wide range of sensitive and confidential issues
  • Ability to consistently deliver results, even under first-time or difficult conditions
  • Excellent ability to work independently, think proactively, anticipate client needs and create possible solutions
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong collaboration skills required with core HR stakeholders and business partners
  • Strong MS Office PC skills
  • Ability to travel as required by the needs of the business - estimated 5%
