Position Summary

Provide support in the areas of recruitment and staffing, personnel records, employee relations, compensation, benefits, HRIS and training

Key Duties / Responsibilities - Essential duties are identified by asterisks.

50% *Calculate hours worked for each employee. Record all hourly attendance. Calculate accrued vacation, regular vacation and final pay for terminated employees. Create and maintain complete employee personnel files. Maintain all employee records on computer and in hard copy files.

15% *Communicate effectively with employees regarding company goals, benefits information, policies, questions, problems and grievances, etc., referring employees to the Human Resources Manager as needed. Administer all Human Resources policies and procedures.

15% *Administer HRIS to include processing of new hires, rehires, terminations, rate changes, LOA's address changes, preparing and inputting payroll figures, etc. Process payroll in a timely and accurate manner. Enter all HR and payroll maintenance.

5% *Assist in the placement of employment ads. May screen and first-interview applicants for non-exempt positions. Conduct testing when applicable. Conduct new employee orientation, ensuring all new employees are aware of company values, goals, policies and procedures. Process applicable paperwork.

5% *Complete worker's compensation reports and other miscellaneous reporting for on the job injuries. Maintain various monthly reports on hiring, terminations, safety, and other related information to keep management and Corporate abreast.

5% *Assist Human Resources Manager in other areas as needed, including clerical support and back-up Receptionist

5% *OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED.

This includes, but is not limited to, participating on improvement teams, recommending and implementing improvement ideas, participating in training and other activities to keep up to date on processes, information, etc.

All employees are responsible for supporting and complying with internal and external audits, to include providing information, performing assigned tasks to ensure compliance, and preparing and maintaining evidence that key duties identified as internal controls have been performed.

All employees are responsible for supporting and complying with safety and security policies to promote a healthy working environment.

Education & Knowledge Required

High School diploma or equivalent required plus a minimum of 1 yr experience in HR/payroll/office/clerical preferred, additional HR education a plus.

Experience / Skills / Abilities Required

Prefer payroll experience. Ability to understand all HR related legal regulations and apply them to work situations. Able to work flexible hours when necessary.

Supervisory Responsibility

Communication & Contacts Required

Work with all center/plant personnel, Corporate HR personnel, other locations, and some vendors

Decision Making

Make guided decisions on interpreting policies.

JOB COMPLEXITY
Requires ability to resolve routine questions and problems and refers more complex issues to higher levels

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions
Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the body. This kind of work involves sitting most of the time.
