Bachelor's degree in human resource management, business, public administration or related field; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential. Strong personal computer skills including Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and an aptitude to learn other computer software required. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in order to meet strict deadlines. Good knowledge of principles and practices of human resource management and local government. Three years of progressively responsible experience in human resources preferred. Pre-employment drug testing and FBI criminal background check required.


Develops written and statistical HR reports on a routine basis. Reviews Employment processes for automation enhancements as needed. Assists with coordinating the county's recruitment & selection process; reviews new hire paperwork to ensure that county policies have been followed; processes new hires for new employee orientation; attends new employee orientation to facilitate completion of paperwork; processes electronic personnel actions for employment status changes of current employees; assists applicants with completing employment applications on-line; handles inquiries from applicants regarding the application process and inquiries from department liaisons regarding employment policies and procedures; processes DMV record check requests; trains new department liaisons on employment policies and procedures; represents the county at career fairs/outreach programs; serves on interview panels as requested. Performs other work as required.
