Novelis North America has an opportunity for a Human Resources Specialist. The Human Resources Specialist supports the Talent Acquisition and Development function in meeting the region’s people needs.
The North America Talent Development team is committed to investing in employee development. This position contributes to the acquisition and development efforts within the region; this includes interaction with people at all levels of the organization internally as well as externally. The Specialist will participate in meetings scheduled to support Talent Management related initiatives and will provide guidance to regional client groups regarding performance management, development and recruitment.
While supporting some overall recruitment efforts, will also lead the full cycle recruiting for an engineering development program and assist with monitoring the participants’ continued experience at the regional plant locations.
Duties and Responsibilities
Work with various teams to create and lead recruitment strategy to meet Novelis North America needs
Provide workforce analysis and forecasting
Strategize and implement best practices in recruiting, sourcing, selection & on-boarding processes
Develop and implement targeted training and development opportunities in order to build organizational and leadership capabilities
- Partner with hiring managers on strategic recruiting activities, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and coordinating process
Function as Program Coordinator for training and development programs
Identify and develop customized training strategy for target audiences and functional areas, working with managers to identify needs and individual development opportunities
Support coaching activities
Assist in development and implementation of assessment and retention tools and coordinate assessment process
Support succession management activities, including creating organization charts, helping to identify key positions, updating succession plans and gap analysis, creating employee profiles, compiling and assessing development plans and preparing presentations
Support regional Talent Management efforts in identifying HIPO’s, performance/potential assessment, metrics, and individual development plans
Support the develop and deliver training, gather and analyze program feedback and engagement
BS in Human Resources or related degree
Minimum 3 years experience in Human Resources
Minimum 2 year experience in recruiting and training
Demonstrate proactive and effective communication and presentation skills
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and drive results
Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking capability
Demonstrated data analysis skills
Ability to travel 25%
