Position Description

This position will assist department and plant management in directing and coordinating all safety & health, and environmental programs in accordance with governmental and company requirements. Serve as a technical resource on prevention of occupational injury/illness related losses and minimization of future liabilities by evaluating risks and establishing appropriate loss control/reduction activities. This position will interact daily with Facilities, Production, R&D, and HR.

Some of the duties may include:

Coordinate facility safety, health and environmental program in accordance with site and corporate Safety & Health Policies and Procedures requirements

Conduct, monitor and provide support to facility’s safety/health/environmental training programs to ensure that all requirements of the safety & health and environmental policies and procedures and applicable state and federal regulations are addressed.

Assist with management of Worker Compensation claim activities, provide requested information and notification to the designated Worker’ Compensation insurance company representative,
Review and revision of core OSHA programs
Program development for Safety Management System certification
Assistance with the facilitation of the site's Near Miss Program
Conduct Job Safety Analysis
Perform basic safety inspections with hazard analysis tools

Required Skills/Qualifications

BS/BA Degree in a Health, Safety and/or Environment related program,
2 to 4 years previous experience in HSE.
