JOB SUMMARY:

The HTEC Field Technician will be responsible for supporting HTEC operating personnel and equipment by means of troubleshooting and operator training to improve overall productivity and reliability of HTEC Equipment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Providing troubleshooting and technical assistance to HTEC operating personnel on all issues

  • Troubleshoot and repair various HTEC equipment

  • Field and in-house repairs, troubleshooting, and service.

  • Support / conduct field training programs

  • Participate in equipment improvements and development projects

  • Utilize Holland’s NCR, OFI and Quality Control Processes

  • Perform Safety, Quality and Housekeeping audits

  • Assist in monitoring adequate levels of recommended spare parts for HTEC equipment

  • Will be required to be on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in case of emergencies

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be willing to travel extensively

  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs with reasonable accommodations

  • Ability to work in all weather conditions

  • Ability to walk on uneven surfaces

  • Ability to climb in and out of various equipment

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum 5 years experience in field service to include troubleshooting, mechanical, hydraulic and electrical knowledge on various control systems

  • Computer and PLC programming knowledge

  • Must have High School diploma or equivalent

  • Must be able take and pass all training and background checks required by Holland’s Customers (e-RAILSAFE, RWP, Contractor Orientations, etc,)

  • Must maintain residence within a one-hour commute from head office

  • Must be willing to travel extensively

  • Good training and coaching skills

  • Must be detail-oriented and have good organizational and paperwork skills

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills required

  • Good math skills and ability to read and work with graphs

  • Ability to read electrical and hydraulic schematics and mechanical drawings

  • Employee should be quality conscious and self-motivated
