This position will provide overall direction and leadership for Iowa State University's College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (LAS) Human Resource Services. The HR liaison will work as part of a college wide Human Resources and Fiscal Operations team that ensures quality work at minimum cost. In addition, this position will facilitate frequent and consistent communication on Human Resource issues within and between departments and college level administration.

The main responsibilities of this position are to facilitate faculty hiring and startup, review and advancement, faculty and staff retention efforts, department and unit reorganizations, and performance review and management. This position will manage recruitment, development, and training for all P&S and Merit Staff. The HR liaison will anticipate personnel needs; compile information regarding the financial impact of current, pending, and proposed personnel changes for use in budget development; track faculty and staff numbers and demographics; and provide guidance on more efficient and effective use of staff. This position will develop and administer policy, procedures and guidelines to align workforce with strategic goals of the college. This position will provide advice and counsel to the Dean and Associate Deans in matters related to human resource management. In addition, the HR liaison will serve in a specialist liaison capacity for the College of LAS and its respective entities with central administration working to increase process efficiency.

The successful candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong organization and time management skills; excellent interpersonal skills; and the ability to work with a diverse population. The candidate will have the ability to research, interpret and synthesize information. In addition, the candidate will represent the LAS College in a professional, ethical manner, exercising discretion, confidentiality, and judgment in all interactions.

This position reports to the Associate Dean for Budget and Personnel and serves as a member of the College's Cabinet and College Operations Team.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and 4 years' experience OR Master's degree and 2 years' experience OR a combination of education and experience totaling 8 years. Experience must be at a comparable level and directly related to the duties of this position.

Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree
Demonstrated knowledge of University/College policies and procedures
Experience in human resource and personnel management
Experience using Word, Excel, and databases
Expertise in creating and delivering presentations

Minimum $44,800; commensurate with qualifications
