Job Title: HVAC Technician

Job Summary: Viox Services has an immediate opening for an HVAC Technician third shift at our client site in Tysons Corner, Virginia. This position will perform various tasks related to HVAC systems, including preventative, corrective, and general maintenance. Duties include, but are not limited to basic service, troubleshooting, cleaning and part replacement of HVAC systems, water treatment, maintaining records and workspace, and integration of duties with the Energy Management System.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Understand and be able to apply water treatment principles including: testing water, making appropriate adjustments, calibrating equipment, maintaining proper chemical levels and procedures of corrosion coupons.
  • Be able to service air handlers, fan coils, cooling towers, and AC units including basic service, trouble shooting, cleaning, and part replacement.
  • Adhere to safety procedures including: read and understand Material Safety Data Sheets, chemical handling, ladder and tool safety, ear and eye protection requirements.
  • Log chillers and interpret/understand acquired information including proper ranges; take corrective actions when necessary; understand the principals of chiller operation thru use of O&M Manuals.
  • Perform basic Central Plant housekeeping chores including cleaning and painting.
  • Perform basic central plant maintenance including lubricating pumps, motors, clearing cooling lines and cleaning strainers.
  • Understand the basic operation of the Energy Management System including making temperature changes, setting limits, analyzing and reacting to alarm conditions, trending and time-of-day scheduling, how to log in, review and make adjustments, confirm devices. Monitor and control lighting schedules.
  • Assist in updating all maintenance records.
  • Check, test, and maintain emergency generators.
Qualifications:
  • High School graduate or G.E.D. is required, diploma or degree in HVAC maintenance and repair and/or related experience is required.
  • EPA Universal CFC Certification.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relative maintenance and mechanical experience.
  • Experience working with CMMS systems highly preferred.
  • Must be willing and able to maintain a flexible work schedule – days, evenings, weekends, and emergencies.
  • Must possess a valid state driver’s license in good standing.
