We are looking for an experienced high-caliber Electrical Engineer with a strong passion for new product development to advance the state of the art.
You must Relish leading system-level and sub-system electrical designs through fast-paced product development cycles.
You will consolidate off the shelf control electronics onto a single custom PCBA (motion control, USB camera, power, audio, mics, and optical sensors), most of these are USB devices. Once the design is done you will manage PCB layout and fabrication.
Drive detailed product development with new technology that fulfills customer experience, business, schedule, cost and performance goals.
Direct execution of detail through system-level design and engineering, validation, and manufacturing activities at contract manufacturers and suppliers.
Lead vendor engineers in design activities and provide guidance on engagement of internal and external teams.
Interface across multiple product development disciplines: Hardware, ID, Usability, RF, Optical, Acoustics, Tooling, Program Management, Reliability, Compliance, Quality, Manufacturing and Procurement.
Detailed electrical project planning to successfully execute on delivery dates & selection of development partners for participation in the delivery of chosen technologies.
Risk mitigation planning, performance metrics and test definition for new technologies/processes, analysis of test results and change recommendations.
5+ years of strong product development experience in design of electronic systems for high-volume consumer electronics
Have a strong mix of technical breadth, creativity and vision allow you to work cross-functionally to tie mechanical assemblies, optics, sensors, actuators, digital analog and power electronics, firmware and software and into compelling customer experiences.
Experience with manufacturing, supply chains, and cross-communications between design, ODM and third party vendor teams.
Demonstrated experience in integrating with cross functional groups including validation, manufacturing, test, reliability, quality, ID, and compliance.
Electronics design; PCB design/layout/power-up/debugging for microcontrollers, sensors, etc.; Matlab, Python, VBA, etc. for data analysis; Knows how to capture and analyze data; Can write small bits of firmware in C for validating hardware; Board bring-up, debugging, microcontrollers, simple firmware, blinky-light code; Experience with optics, lab measurements, and Matlab, C#, or other code environment for looking at data intelligently; Familiarity with O-scopes, power supplies
Highly Desired Skills:
Experience with building embedded or distributed systems
Experience with building hardware + software + services products
Hands-on design experience with motor control, array microphones, audio amplification, HD video cameras, displays, and power management are all highly desirable.
Leadership and People Skills:
Must be highly motivated and enjoy bringing technical and tactical leadership to cross-disciplinary teams.
Excellent communication skills enabling seamless collaboration with teams across various engineering functions and geographies.
Demonstrated competencies in customer focused innovation, technical excellence, strategic insight, impact and influence across a product group or beyond, and passion for quality.
Ability to work independently and under pressure - must be a team player.
Education: BSEE required, MSEE preferred.
