Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (or Computer Engineering) required.
This Design Engineer is an entry-level position, which may include up to 2 years of experience.
Experience with high speed digital design and signal integrity issues required. Strong fundamental knowledge of digital and analog design principles and architecture skills required.
Experience with regulatory EMI/EMC compliance requirements is preferred.
No travel is expected for this position.

Ability to draft, write and enter necessary data for reports, business correspondence, and/or procedure manuals. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
The Hardware Design Engineer will be a member of a team responsible for the development and maintenance of ADTRAN’s product family.
This Hardware Design Engineer is an entry-level position where the work is primarily focused on the development or improvement of actual products or designs. Assignments are designed to develop professional work knowledge and abilities. Requires ability to perform Engineering tasks for a major project or for projects of moderate complexity with limited direction.
Design or assist in the design, development, debugging, and integration of hardware for ADTRAN’s product family.
Design or assist in the design of Printed Circuit Boards (PCB) for Telecommunications products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Design or assist in the design of hardware architecture, schematic capture, prototype testing, and PCB layout review.
Troubleshoot regulatory compliance failures.
May lead hardware architecture development efforts.
May lead projects and oversee other engineer’s design and architecture decisions.
May assist others within engineering and tech support in debugging issues.
May provide input in determining the level of effort required for hardware and product features requested from product management.
Other projects or duties as required for the development of innovation and design.
