Miranda Technologies, a leading provider of hardware and software solutions for the television, broadcast, satellite and IPTV industry is looking for a Hardware Engineer to develop hardware solutions that exceed our customers’ expectations. You will join a dynamic team driving technical innovation for high profile broadcast industry leaders who are looking for multi-media content delivery solutions. You will play an important role in the product development cycle including product definition, development and release.

  • Develop hardware designs for digital video/audio routers and router control which includes the use of micro-controllers, FPGA’s, Ethernet interfaces, clock signal distribution, SDRAM & DDR, etc
  • Test and validate circuits in the using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other specialized test equipment
  • Develop test plans and procedures
  • Document designs, i.e. circuit block diagrams, design specifications, bill of materials.
  • Be an active participant in the definition of new products and product architectures
  • Research of technologies (solutions, techniques, and components) in order to find effective hardware solutions
  • Provide support with the layout design of new PCBs

The ideal candidate meets these competencies:
  • Bachelor in Electrical or Computer Engineering
  • Minimum of 2 years in the design of hardware systems
  • Experience with high speed digital design & PCB layout techniques
  • Experience with FPGA design (Xilinx or Altera)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Creative problem solver
  • Experience with the execution of complex products from conception to delivery
  • Experience designing complex FPGA’s using Verilog
  • Knowledge of SMPTE video standards
  • Familiar with DFM/DFT
  • Experience with Mentor Graphics design tools (schematic, simulation, layout)
  • Team-oriented and can work independently; efficient, motivated, autonomous
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to schedule engineering tasks
  • Solution oriented – flexible and creative while making timely decisions
  • Focused on deadlines and deliverables in prioritizing work
