Critical Action Items:

  • Sorts clothing and linens by proper classification
  • Operates washing and dryer machines in safe and efficient manner
  • Manually folds and categorizes articles for delivery
  • Maintains a clean and safe environment to meet infection control and safety standards
  • Attends and participates in all mandatory trainings to meet BCFS safety guidelines
  • Assists with delivery of clothing and linens to proper destination
  • Report repairs and equipment problems immediately to supervisor

  • Measurable Deliverables:

  • Must maintain a safe working environment at all times
  • Must keep work area clean at all times
  • Must use assigned PPE
  • Must complete assignment within designated time frames

  • Other Responsibilities:

  • Sort and document soiled clothing and linens for washing
  • May be required to handle heavy loads with or without assistance
  • Must comply with Blood-borne Pathogen Exposure Control processes
  • Must work in hot and damp environment
  • Must work with various cleaning chemicals and solutions and comply with EPA and OSHA regulations and other BCFS safety polices
  • Must take full responsibility of assigned laundry service
  • Must keep separate linen carts for transporting of soiled and clean linens
  • Must keep contaminated linens that have been removed from beds of residents who have a possible infectious condition in separate double bags, plainly marked. These items will be laundered and disinfected separately.
  • Will use germicidal agents and bleaching agents on all linens
  • Will not wash residents’ clothes in strong bleach
  • Will follow all clean linen procedures including drying, ironing, folding and sorting all laundry in linen closets and designated areas by designated persons.
  • Will need to report needed supplies to supervisor, before running out.
  • Other job duties as assigned.


    Education: Graduation from a standard Senior High School or GED

    Experience: Previous experience in laundering operations work, machine washing, and machine drying.


  • Must be at least 18yrs of age
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is required
  • Ability to write laundry reports
  • Possess a Valid Texas Driver’s license with acceptable driving record
  • Must pass a criminal background check as a condition of employment and to maintain ongoing employment
  • To successfully perform this job, the employee must satisfy the physical demands described as essential functions, with or without reasonable accommodations:
  • The employee is required to stand; walk; sit; climb or balance; stoop or kneel
  • The employee must be able to lift and /or move up to 120lbs with or without assistance
  • The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms
  • Other job duties as assigned.
