At Pomona, physical education professors are full members of the faculty on continuing contracts instead of tenure. Responsibilities include teaching activity classes in the physical education program, managing all aspects of Pomona-Pitzer's competitive NCAA Division III Men's Tennis program and assigned administrative duties. The department is particularly interested in candidates who have experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and a demonstrated commitment to improving access to higher education for underrepresented students.Pomona and Pitzer Colleges are members of the Claremont Colleges consortium located in Southern California, approximately 40 miles east of Los Angeles.
The Pomona-Pitzer Athletic Program consists of 21 intercollegiate teams and is a founding member of the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
