SUMMARY: Manage all aspects of a NCAA Division I women’s tennis program (recruiting, evaluation of talent, conditioning, practices and contests, monitoring academic progress, scheduling of contests, fundraising, administering budget, community service). Must also be knowledgeable of and comply with conference and NCAA guidelines.

DUTIES AND Responsibilities: Supervise and instruct student-athletes participating in women's intercollegiate tennis.

Recruit student-athletes for the women's tennis team according to IUPUI policies and departmental philosophies. Visit prospective athletes' homes and schools, review matches and practices, and maintain correspondence relative to prospective athlete contacts.

Monitor the academic progress of the women's tennis student-athletes. Ensure that athletes maintain grades; consult with players and instructors regarding academic problems; and make arrangements for study tables, tutors or other mechanisms to improve academic performance as necessary.

Coach the women's tennis team during practice and match situations. Prepare match plans and develop strategies.

Coordinate and oversee preseason conditioning and weight training programs designed to produce competitive teams.

Develop and administer the women's tennis budget. Schedule matches by contacting other institutions and negotiating dates and location of matches. Maintain knowledge of all applicable NCAA, conference and institutional rules that impact the women's tennis program. Attend rules education meetings.

Engage in fundraising and promotional activities. Participate in efforts to raise revenue and level of exposure for IUPU1 athletics.

Represent the department and institution to internal and external publics. Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Two (2) years of coaching/teaching experience in the sport of tennis. Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization preferred.
