We are looking for a seasoned Community Manager to lead the charge for The Geocaching Community Management team. This team acts as the face of Geocaching to a community of over 5 million Geocachers around the globe!
What You’ll Do:
Manage: Hire, train and support a team of globally focused community managers.
Scale: Develop a systematic and scalable feedback loop between the company and the community.
Measure: Create benchmarks for community health and corresponding KPI’s.
Optimize: Research and implement tools that allow for efficient and timely communication with our community via an ever changing array of social media channels.
Leadership - You have a knack for hiring just the right person. You know what motivates someone to go beyond the everyday. Gosh darn it, people like you.
Social Media - You know social media is about more than tweeting and can point to case studies of companies who scaled these efforts to great effect. If you can debate the merits of hootsuite and tweetdeck we’d like to talk to you and find out if there is an equivalent for Pinterest.
Analytics - What’s a game without a score? You love building spreadsheets, setting quantitative goals, and using data to make decisions.
Communication - Your written communication skills are out of this world. You’d change this sentence to say it even better. Others call you their muse.
Prioritized Juggling - You see a pile of work. No. A mountain of work. And you know how to attack it. Sometimes it takes a pickaxe, and sometimes it takes dynamite. But you can figure out the right tools to move that mountain.
Self-Motivated - You grin when someone tells you to “Start Juggling!!!” Because you’ve already been juggling for hours.
Collaborator - You love being part of a team and rallying fellow co-workers. Your life-long motto is “we are all in this together”. And part of that is graciously receiving and owning coaching and feedback.
Love of Geocaching - Even if you’re new to Geocaching, you can instantly see why people get hooked on finding that next ‘cache!
Bonus Points For:
A large collection of Geocoins.
The ability to communicate in a second language. Dead/fictional languages count.
5-10 years of relevant work or life experience.
A love of herding cats.
