Job Description:
The Head of Development for Rooftop PV is responsible
for the origination of commercial rooftop leads in
States in which E.ON has been active in wind and solar
energy – including Texas, California and neighboring
states, and for developing these leads further into
contracts with rooftop owners, off-takers, investors and
other involved parties. The Head of Development for
Rooftop PV will be the first employee of ECT in the
United States of America and is expected to build up a
team of experienced and highly motivated rooftop
developers in the short term.

Her/his responsibilities include:
  • Defining a go-to-market strategy including target
customer segments (commercial roofs, B2B customers,
multi-site multinational customers), appropriate
channels and a marketing concept
  • Defining sales related documents and tools (e.g.,
contracts, product descriptions, calculation tools,
negotiation strategies etc.)
  • Establishing planning and performance management
processes, delivering against and aspiring to be
outperforming targets in the business plan
  • Performing market and competitor analysis and
  • Actually originating and closing deals herself/himself
immediately
The Head of Development for Rooftop PV will work closely
with several E.ON units, including: ECT HQ, based in
Essen, Germany, regarding strategy, target setting,
CAPEX allocation/approval and performance management;
E.ON Climate & Renewables Solar, based in San Francisco,
regarding engineering, procurement and construction
services; and E.ON operations in North America, based in
Chicago, for financial, HR, legal, back-office and other
support services.
Qualification
  • Minimum of 3 years of rooftop PV development
experience, including a thorough understanding of
relevant regulatory regimes as well as applicable
commercial and technical solutions
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience of working in the
Californian renewables market
  • Strong originating and deal closing skills
  • Strong analytical, commercial and problem solving
skills
  • Proven leadership skills in building up a team and
creating a culture of excellence in delivery and
continuous improvement
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, taking initiative and
ownership, acting with a sense of urgency and care, able
to work without guidance, self-standing
  • Willing to work in a dynamic, fast changing external
environment as well as a corporate setting with multiple
interfaces
