The growing Digital and Mobile capability (global - UK, US, India, Singapore) provides and will increasingly provide Barclays with market-changing leadership in the Digital and Mobile product innovation, development arena and drive the transformation and strategic integration of a global innovation platform. Ultimately, as part of the 'Go To' ambition, Digital and Mobile are to be primary customer channels by 2014. The Digital and Mobile platform will house the developments in customer insights, products, and delivery processes across different customer segments, geographies and markets. The breakthrough internet and mobile propositions created will ensure we retain and attract new customers to Barclays and increase our product penetration with existing customers and clients. Success will create: - A single approach to customer experience across Barclays - Economies of scale through multiple use of single capabilities and adaption of new approaches - New organizational capabilities in both customer experience and technology delivery Digital and Mobile will leverage expertise from across the business in customer insight, technology and product to rapidly develop and progress innovative ideas and solutions to customer needs. Deep collaboration with business unit COOs, Marketing, Finance, business leaders, Product and Customer Experience will be necessary to integrate innovation and deployment The leadership team for Digital and Mobile will need to collaborate externally with thought leaders in technology to identify strategic opportunities, new business models and potential partnerships which will drive future value for RBB and over time, the Barclays Group. The role and function has significant leadership, technical and commercial accountabilities. It is a key role in driving forward the strategic agenda across Barclays, ensuring that routes to market and serve are integrated, exciting, compatible, and truly aligned to customer feedback, requirements and desires. As a key member of the leadership team you will work across Barclays with senior business stakeholders to drive their vision of the future of Banking. As well as the technical aspects and requirements, you will be able to play a key role in developing our target culture of 'Disciplined Innovation'. Developing and delivering innovative solutions towards integrating internet applications resulting in either direct or indirect revenue regeneration or cost savings. There are quite a few internet system projects lined up targeting the platform consolidation, seamless cross business integration, new product development to replace the legacy platforms with innovative and market leading propositions, just to mention few. The incumbent will be responsible for defining the delivery strategy, ensure stakeholder buy-in and manage the delivery for the internet system integrations. The job holder will interface with and manage senior stakeholder relationships internally across RBB business units, and externally with 3rd party suppliers and organizations looking to use the platforms. A critical objective and requirement for the post holder is the ability to define, design, develop and run the application delivery team to ensure all new products can be rolled out on schedule and understand enterprise level application deployment complexities. Strategy, Roadmap, Engineering, Delivery (75%)
· Accountable for the delivery of the internet system integration at RBB, Digital and Mobile at complexity of scale of supporting 5 to 8 million users on single platform with monthly transaction volume GBP 12bn - 20bn.
· Define the vision and roadmap for the internet system integration projects to support global delivery and deployment of the initiatives.
· Lead and manage the development, definition and maintenance of major elements of the overall technology strategy and solution that will enable delivery of internet system integration projects.
· Ensure projects transition into the production environment is on time, on budget and delivered to an appropriate level of quality. This includes ensuring that solutions meet pre-defined service requirements for security, reliability, resilience, operability, availability and manageability.
· Lead design and dev teams to implement critical requirements of features that can be reused/deployed across different lines of business and geographies.
· Promote understanding of both the business and technology domain of systems and applications associated and impacted as a whole, but with a focus around the core proposition of internet system integration.
· Engage and partner with the working groups and business to ensure practical development of the strategy and buy in to the assigned end-state post deployment.
· Participate in the planning of the products activities to taking full responsibility for budgets and financial management.
· Define and deliver application design artifacts and ensure technology governance processes are followed in their creation and implementation.
· Ensures that all requirements are packaged into programs or portfolios of work and that these are delivered in a timely and efficient manner
· Actively works with senior business stakeholders to translate current and future business strategies into a development and deployment strategy.
· Ensure standards, risks, controls and governance are adhered to, managed and mitigated - this includes working with internal stakeholders to ensure on time, high quality delivery and integration of internet products. This will also include the management of the product portfolio to ensure that the platform stability and security is maintained.
· Ensures the resource plan is maintained and met and that appropriately including the recruitment and coaching of skilled and experienced individuals.
· Ensures delivery of the platform and service meets requirements and that acceptance and handover to business as usual are managed against agreed acceptance criteria and to a defined plan.
· Ensures integrity is maintained by utilizing best practice approach to development, and implementation of Production change
· Ensures that all products within the portfolio status reporting is accurate, informative and timely, and directly provides progress reports to the Technology Partner and Product Director governance forums at agreed intervals
· Initiates extra activities and other management interventions wherever gaps in the Platform Development are identified or issues arise
· Work closely with the Business to proactively identify change opportunities (Monthly forums, weekly news, Daily Hopper sessions)
· Builds lasting relationships with other Senior Executives across Technology to ensure collaboration across teams to achieve overall program goals.

        Deep skills and experience in application strategy, development, systems engineering and delivery / support Advanced level of proficiency in planning, change management and problem solving, able to resolve issues of a highly complex and strategic nature involving areas within and outside of the Technology organization. Third party product integration coupled with strong industry knowledge within financial services IT. Highly knowledgeable of industry standards and themes relevant to application development and application support (e.g. ITIL, CMMI, Extended Delivery / Outsourcing / Off-shoring). Advanced level of business management knowledge, including business / organizational and operational design principles, budget control, customer and stakeholder management and contractual risks.
