Candidate Profile: This role is responsible for all marketing strategy and initiatives at RingRevenue. This includes all corporate marketing, product marketing, analyst relations, branding and lead generation.
This role requires a hands-on leader to drive marketing execution through personal contribution, a small but growing marketing team of three, and external agency relationships. An “ivory tower ” marketing executive will not succeed in the RingRevenue environment and culture. The sales model is based on engaging enterprise via an outbound sales model and SMB customers via an inside sales model. Some of the company ’s offers may include a free trial of the product and then converting those trials to paid customers, similar to the model at Dropbox, Solarwinds, SurveyMonkey, Eventbrite, etc.
The primary goal of the marketing function is to reach the right potential customers and deliver qualified leads to the sales organization. Accordingly, this role ’s most important responsibility is to generate lead volume, personally analyze lead volume, quality, etc., and work with the inside sales organization to analyze and aggressively attack the best lead sources. While working with the inside sales group is likely the most important aspect of generating high quality leads this executive will also source and work with resellers (including Google) on promotions, product marketing materials, and methods to position RingRevenue to their customers that will in turn get their customers to generate higher sales volumes. The ability to derive and optimize the analytical model to understand dollars spent, lead source, lead quality, ability to close the leads, ASP of leads from disparate sources, etc.

Key Responsibilities of this role: Craft and execute marketing strategy, including opportunity identification, competitive intelligence, media management and goal setting.
Take ownership of the company positioning and messaging to prospects, customers and media. Work with the sales and product teams to better position RingRevenue and provide channel feedback. Develop and incentivize a strong marketing organization to continue to build and maintain a premium presence with customers and the media. Oversee product marketing including product launch management, sales training, presentations, sales tools, competitive analysis and general sales support.
Build a reputation for innovative marketing strategies and techniques. A proven playbook around developing and scaling a lead generation model responsible for the revenue base of their company. Optimize and tune the marketing automation system. Create a follow-up marketing campaign to emphasize helping the company use RingRevenue.
Engage in data-mining on leads to find potential customers. Create the proper positioning of RingRevenue relative to the competitive landscape and generate a compelling elevator pitch for the company story. Be able to create different marketing messages for different economic buyers and different industry verticals. Determine if creative is truly matching their content to what the economic buying customer values.
Frequent analysis of lead quality to enable RingRevenue to “turn off ” bad lead sources and amplify spend on quality lead sources. Work with resellers to create compelling promotions and incentives to get the right stakeholders at a company to try RingRevenue. Write and maintain product marketing materials for both the inside sales team and the outside sales team, as well as the reselling partners. Leverage social media, analysts, etc.
to generate buzz around the RingRevenue solution. Create a tactical marketing plan to position RingRevenue relative to competitors (example: call reporting vs. call analytics). Must have knowledge of Salesforce.com, a working understanding of automated marketing lead generation systems and processes, and a working knowledge of the software/SaaS sales model (such as Salesforce.com and Concur models) Plan Development and Execution: Define and refine a repeatable, predictable marketing process.
Coordinate, communicate, execute and manage a lead generation plan that achieves substantial conversion of customers to paid accounts. Be able to market through the current “analytics washing ” of new technologies to relay the definitive business advantages of the RingRevenue solution. Strategic Contribution: Bring thought leadership and vision as part of the executive team in formulating the strategic plans that will successfully develop the company ’s offerings in the market. Work with RingRevenue partners (example: Google, ValueClick, Rakuten, etc.) to develop a strong partner marketing relationship to compliment your sales methodology and process.
Experience crafting board presentations and working directly with a BoD. Demonstrated ability to build and ramp lead generation for software products. 7+ years of progressive experience in online and offline marketing, campaign development and management, brand strategy and client retention with company selling digital media solutions. Proven ability to influence customers at all levels of an organization.
Superb quantitative skills and a clear understanding of ROI analysis. Strong understanding of online advertising and working knowledge of multi-channel advertising, including agencies, online performance networks, lead generation, email marketing and direct response. Social media experience and expertise. Clear understanding of the scope and power of social media, and have strong ideas about how to leverage.
Demonstrated ability to manage outsourced marketing activities (PR, corporate identity system, website, etc.) Collaborate with sales in the development of innovative sales and marketing programs. Represent and evangelize RingRevenue in the press, at trade shows, and other speaking opportunities. Personal Characteristics: High integrity. It ’s a requirement.
